Screen Rant : I believe Aunt May is the character that you have reprised the most on film . This is your 5th metre encounter her if I ’m correct . What does the character of May mean to you ?
Marisa Tomei : It ’s just been really great to work with Jon Watts and see how he develops this character and what he envision for her , where she extend .
The stakes are a little different this meter around because everyone knows that Peter is Spider - Man and May is so protective of him . How do you think this affects May inNo Way Home ?
Marisa Tomei : Well , they ’re a team now , so they have to figure it out together , really go forward now that the cat ’s out of the base .
Well , because she ’s so important to Spider - Man ’s body of work . And I was thinking about this , a deal of the bomber , not all of them have power , and I kind of see May as a superhero in her own right . Do you agree with that ? Do you think she ’s kind of a superhero ?
Marisa Tomei : possibly , peradventure kind of , I guess so . We try .
She ’s the person they were bemuse together into this . They have a shared circumstances . They really would n’t have known each other . They ’re not biologically pertain , but they found each other in this liveliness and they ’re going to face these enormous challenge together . So , there ’s something in the shared mystery that ’s very interesting .
I screw the scenes with you and Jon Favreau too . They crack me up . You cat have such a good give-and-take together . I would love to see some kind of Happy / May romcom spinoff . I do n’t have a go at it if that ’s possible , but I would love it .
Marisa Tomei : That ’d be funny .
