Karen Gillan : For Nebula , we ’ve really seen her go on a journey of healing . In the first flick , she was very bitter and tormented , and then gradually she ’s evolving and recrudesce compassion and forming a relationship with her sister Gamora . In this movie , we ’re starting to see her in reality be capable to help other people cure , which is really of import stage of the healing process . So , that was quite nice .
Pom Klementieff : By being an empath , the beautiful substance also is that you could heal through love and through connecting with others and , as you say , the choose family . Which is a very crucial root word and a beautiful substance .
What have your characters learned from each other ?

Pom Klementieff : She ’s gained in ego - confidence , for indisputable . She ’s kind of the gum that maintain the Guardians together , by being an empath and caring for the others . And also , she get to complain ass ! She evolve , she ’s unapologetic , and she stand up for herself . I mean , there ’s so many new things that you see in Mantis , you know ?
We get to see your characters as amply part of the Guardians this time around . What ’s your favorite moral force with one of the other Guardians that you get to play with ?
Pom Klementieff : It was fun for us to trifle . We finally have scenes together ; we did n’t really have scenes before . In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol . 2 , we ’re not really interact with each other that much . It was really dainty to get to do that , and to get to do these fiery vista where we get huffy .
Karen Gillan : Yeah ! And we beat to improvise a bunch . He gave us a tidy sum of exemption to just come up with lines and call out at each other , and just call each other names .

Karen Gillan : She ’s just been so interesting to me this whole metre . It ’s just been a really unexpected turn , but it ’s also really fun to notice a unexampled style to toy the character , keep it sweet , and see her develop a small bit more of a personality that maybe was suppressed because of her traumatic nurture .
I hump Mantis , and her world power is amazing . It really is emotions , not only within the conflict , but also within the squad . Can you talk to me about why it ’s so important to show that side of being a superhero ?
Pom Klementieff : I signify , that ’s beautiful . It ’s so important to have empathy . There ’s a lot of people in this world that lack empathy , and it ’s beautiful to show that side in superhero movie too . Because we see a lot of also female character who are strong and badass and convinced , which is expectant , but it ’s nice to show also another side that is also soft and more caring .
Also , she ’s passing weird , which is so funny to do and I think funny to watch as well . She wreak a lot of drollery , which is cool to do also as as an actress . It ’s not just a guy wire who ’s funny , right ? It ’s both .
This is the concluding chapter of James Gunn’sGuardians of the Galaxy , and it really has felt almost like a comic book story electric arc where he get to write his trilogy . Can you talk to me about what the vibe was on set , knowing that this was going to be the net Guardians for all of you together ?
Pom Klementieff : I mean , you were not think about that all the fourth dimension , thank God . We started the picture really so excited to be back together with such a beautiful hand ; so happy to be back .
Karen Gillan : Yeah . Then we shot for six months , so we were n’t necessarily feel like it was the end . But then …
Pom Klementieff : It was more towards the end that it started dawning on us , so you felt a slight bit pitiful , for sure .
In the poke , we get this teaser with Peter and Nebula . What would Peter Quill and Nebula together see like to you ?
Karen Gillan : I really could really see a His Girl Friday [ for them ] . Quippy back - and - off , witty banter , and bickering .
Pom Klementieff : Are you pitching a read-only memory - com ? That ’d be so fun . Can I be in it too ?
Karen Gillan : Sure , yeah , come on in .
Pom Klementieff : Will you be mean to me again ?
Karen Gillan : Not the rom - com . New principle !
Pom Klementieff : I would roll in the hay for Mantis to wear out a beany . In rom - coms , it ’s always Winter clock time or evenfall . So , a beanie , with her antennas go through the beany . And will you have a cute outfit for Nebula ?
Karen Gillan : Maybe Nebula have her arm stuck in a little grating on the trading floor or something , and then Star - Lord has to get right , and then they have a meet - cute . [ She has on ] , like , a little cocktail dress . But with the arm out .
You guys have been a part ofGuardians of the Galaxyfor a while now . What lessons have you learned that you ’re going to take with you on succeeding projects ?
Karen Gillan : I ’ve become a better thespian working with James Gunn . He ’s just so incredibly supportive and guides you in all the style that you need .
Pom Klementieff : He ’s an incredible director , and he tell us that he ’s going to direct us in dissimilar ways ; whatever we need . So , he ’s not going to speak to Karen the same way he does with me or with the other player . He has such a strong horse sense of psychological science , and he ’s so caring , and also an empath . He be intimate ; he feels you , so he re - adjusts .
