It may have been to the dismay ofBatmanfans everywhere when it was announced a couple of calendar month ago thatChristopher Nolan ’s next undertaking wo n’t beBatman 3 , but rather a sci - fi " judgement thriller " calledInception . Not much is do it about the plot of the movie other than the description that it’s"a contemporary sci - fi actioner mark within the computer architecture of the mind,“but the casting sure has gear up over the last while .
Leonardo DiCaprio was first to be cast in the film , playing the Pb , and Cillian Murphy ( who work on with Nolan antecedently onBatman Beginsand shortly inThe Dark Knight ) , Ellen Page andMarion Cotillard were also announced to star . On top of that , there was also word thatSir Michael Caine ( * bow * ) might be coming on - card , too . And today we have another talented histrion joining the cast in the form of Joseph Gordon - Levitt .
James Franco ( Spider - Man , Pineapple Express ) reportedly was supposed to play the role in the celluloid , but due to programming battle he degenerate out . Levitt will now play the role which is discover as a chief executive officer character who is an associate of DiCaprio ’s character . The film will set off shooting this summer but that does n’t mean we wo n’t be take care Levitt during that prison term - he will grace our film screen in a pair movies this summertime : the aptly titled500 Days of Summer , aSundanceindie comedy hit , and of course he will be seen as Cobra Commander inG.I. Joe : The Rise of Cobra .
It ’s backbreaking to know just what to make ofInception , not least because its story has been shrouded in almost complete concealment ever since it was harbinger . Apart from a one - prison term description of it being some sort of " mind thriller , " we really do n’t know how it ’s going to turn out , what it ’s go to be about or if it ’s reminiscent of any of Nolan ’s other work . That may be a good matter : keep its game an almost complete mystery may be a genius marketing move - a mass of mass may just go to see it just to see what the hell it ’s all about ( and because of who ’s in it ) .
I very much look ahead to whatever Mr Nolan , one of the most talented film producer of our time , has in memory board for us withInception . He has yet to let me down - I can honestly and wholeheartedly say I really like every single one of his movies . If I had to break up a handful of director ’s who are plump to be around for a very prospicient metre , solidifying themselves into movie history as the like of Steven Spielberg and Stanley Kubrick have , Nolan would certainly be amongst that small chemical group .
That cast does n’t exactly hurt either . DiCaprio , Page , Murphy , peradventure Caine , and now Levitt ? … It seems that Nolan really believe in this piece of original work he has both written and directing , and he wants unfeigned talent to portray characters he has envisioned from scrape .
I just wonder if this privateness that shrouds this project will be maintain up , or if we ’ll get flooded with details when it gets dear the fourth dimension of release . I really desire for the former …
