The handsome Mark Sloan was not the most authentic person in the gain aesculapian dramaGrey ’s Anatomy , but he was crucial to the plot line in his own way . Worst: Disloyal
One of Mark ’s worst traits was his deficiency of loyalty to those stuffy to him . Derek was not only his best friend , but more like his brother , as the two had practically produce up together .
Yet , Mark betrayed his corporate trust when he kip with Addison Montgomery Shepherd . Although he was a worthy friend to Callie Torres and did his best to sting around and fix his friendship with Derek , he had , alas , already proven himself to be disloyal .
Best: A Good Mentor
Mark was a good mentor and instructor to Jackson Avery . It was Mark who took the unseasoned man under his wingand made sure he passed on all his expertise so that Jackson could be as competent in plastic surgery as he himself was .
Jackson did become an excellent credit card operating surgeon and ENT , thanks to Mark , who realized that he could be a good teacher after all , even though he had never considered teaching deserving his while .
Worst: Arrogant & Condescending
Mark was not always a good teacher , or even a teacher at all . He was in fact condescending and chesty towards the interns , so much so thathe would mail them off to get his java or run errands for him .
Mark was no doubt a great operating surgeon , but his hauteur was one of the ground he was n’t particularly well - regarded by the intern at first . Gradually though , his character went through some evolution and became less brassy to those lesser than him position - wise .
Best: Charismatic
Mark oozed charisma and even earnedthe cognomen ' McSteamy ' for his exceptional looks and sex appeal , a nickname given to him by none other than Meredith Grey .
Mark could beguile any cleaning woman off her feet if he so need , and while most of the clock time he used his charm to be a playboy , one could scarcely abnegate this as a rather suitable trait in the gorgeous Mark Sloan .
Worst: Not The Most Respectful
Mark was not just arrogant as a operating surgeon , but did n’t necessarily cover people with a lot of respect either , especially women .
He act from one cleaning lady to the next with incredible swiftness , a habit that did n’t leave the womanhood too well-chosen . The nanny ' labor union even exit ona work stoppage against Mark Sloan , whose behavior was consider intimate molestation . It was after Mark gain ill fame amongst the distaff staff in the hospital that he started thinking of change his ways a shade bit .
Best: A Great Dad
Mark made a great dad to little Sofia and some of his most adorable moments in the series are with his daughter . In fact , Mark was always in favour of having a family , whether that was after he met his fraught daughter , Sloan Riley , or when Callie arrest pregnant with his baby .
Mark would have loved to see his daughter turn up , and no doubthe would have been deeply troubled at the severance between Callie and Arizona , two of his best friends , and mothers to Sofia .
Worst: Immature
Mark was always a bit unripened . He went through life story not being able to truly apprise his own worth , and in turnmaking some very poor and immature choices .
After he fell hard for Lexie , he took on Jackson as a pupil having realize that the latter had feelings for her as well . However , despite these flashes of maturity , he made decisions such as see the opthalmologist Julia alternatively of reuniting with Lexie .
Best: Potential For Good Leadership
Mark was never shown as a mankind in guardianship , except very briefly when he stepped in as interim Chief of Seattle Grace in the episode , " backup System " .
He took his role seriously , although not everyone was on board with him taking over , even if just for a day or so . He coin the full term " Beef with the Chief " so that the staff and doctors could talk to him about whatever lowly matter occupy them and get it off their chest so that they did n’t escalate . He also represent his part , try on to inspire his doctor , especially Derek , and making certain that the schedule surgeries took spot smoothly . He did show potential for leaders that day and it would have been fun to keep an eye on him in that role for a bit more prison term .
Worst: Callous
