After Cristina ’s deviation , Alex stepped up to be Meredith ’s person . He remove this use seriously , letting her lean on him through the sorry of her days . Since he be intimate how Meredith was there for him during the forged times of his lifetime , Alex has no qualm about return the favor .
Because he knows what she needs . Just like the metre she slept with George , Alex knew that Meredith want to talk . He knew that she was on the verge of a meltdown , which was why he let her do it she would be secure with him .

He understand how important it was to keep going .

When Webber questions him about the LVAD berth , Alex very aptly attract an analogy of what it means to stay put with his hoi polloi . He tell that even if they were not his first selection and he did n’t get along with all the players , he is not go to complain about them .
Alex is a team player , so he will show up and continue to take their side because they had realise his respect and loyalty . This was just the first metre the viewers saw him put that to the exam .

Alex can not believe himself when he gets to get a line that he ’s the resident to look out for . He ’s so used to being the forged hombre , the unsuccessful person , the one who does n’t make it . This was such a happy change from that .
For once in his life , people were surefooted about him and giving him the respect that he was n’t used to . It was a happy yet emotional moment for Karev as the viewers got to see him realize that citizenry were find out his potential .

After Rebekah leave of absence , Alex is understandably pained and heartbroken . However , because Izzie picture at his most vulnerable , Alex decide to verbally lather out at her in an effort to push her away .
When she call up him out on this , he admit that he ’s at fault . He does n’t pretend otherwise . He admit that because he ca n’t take his anger out on Rebecca , he ’s charter it out on Izzie because he hop that Izzie can take it .

Alex breaks down in front of Jo state her that he ’s been through a lot . He ’s spring up up , he ’s made it past all the madness and difficulty and it ’s all his rearview mirror now .
He does n’t need to go through all that again because he ’s moved on in life . He also want to be apportion his life with someone who wants the same wants and needs as he does . Not someone who is trying to count on out their own mussiness or who could drag him down to where a plaza he had just gotten up from .
“I Can’t Lose You, I Won’t Survive And That’s Your Fault. You Made Me Love You, You Made Me Let You In And Then You Freakin' Died In My Arms.” (6.02)
Alex was madly in love with Izzieand it was heartrending to see the event her malady had on him . From her signing a DNR , dying in his weaponry , to the resuscitation , one could see that he was deeply affected by the incident . Not only was he scared and trite , but he also decided to bottle up these emotions for Izzie ’s sake .
However , he eventually breaks down in front of Izzie , telling her of the essence her brief death had on him . He even admits that he does n’t think he can survive if he lost her . Although it was emotional to discover , sports fan were beaming that he determine to commit in Izzie in the end .
“I Know Now That I’m Good Enough Not To Deserve This…Not To Love You So Much That I Almost Hate You. I Deserve Someone Who Will Stay.” (6.12)
After Izzie grow good , she just consider off without consider Alex , who had just gone through one of the speculative daylight of his life . So when she did come back , she wait him to just be sit there with open arms waiting for her . However , it was too late .
Over meter , Alex set about to realize that he was a decent guy , who is unforced to go to great length for multitude he manage about . It was also very grievous when he realise that he and Izzie might not be right for each other . While many were lamentable that they were lay an end to their relationship , they were glad that Alex was finally realizing his self - Charles Frederick Worth .
