Denny Duquette , play to perfection by Jeffrey Dean Morgan , is one of the early good example of a side character that genuinely tugged at viewer ' heartstrings . The human relationship between the dying heart affected role and Izzie Stevens may have been unprofessional , but it was pure , and buff fell in love with Denny just as fast and just as firmly as Izzie did .
A retentive term affected role of Dr. Burke , Denny has been through hell since his diagnosis with viral cardiomyopathy - an ailment that regularly get his heart to fail .

For a serviceman always puddle raunchy jokes and professing his feelings for his doctor , there is something unbelievably perfect and vulnerable about Denny Duquette . He always knows exactly the correct thing to say , and that ’s the case when Izzie lastly tells him that yes , she will marry him .
sentence does n’t matter to him any longer . He just get a heart transplant and he want to make the most of that gift , and in his mind , he ca n’t do that without Izzie Stevens in his lifetime .
