It was n’t that Erica was n’t a good individual , it ’s just that she did n’t quite mesh well with the other characters . On the one hand , her relationship with Callie was a high spot of the former time of year . Grey ’s Anatomytook a big step forward by showcasing a relationship between two women .
On the other hand , though , the execution of the relationship and the sharp departure of Brooke Smith ’s character were damaging to the show and Callie ’s type . If no one seems to remember she ever existed , it ’s because the serial wants it that way .
Nathan Riggs
For someone who was one of Meredith ’s post - Derek relationships , Nathan has been forgotten quite quickly . certainly , he and Meredith were never going to last — both were mourning their losses ( or presume , in his case ) — but the aesculapian drama seemed very determined to say bye to him in such a style that it ’s unlikely he ’ll ever come back .
Stephanie Edwards
Stephanie was n’t precisely likeable when she first started at the hospital , primarily because of the timing ( after the plane crash ) . However , over the days , she more than proved herself life history - wise . ( Her relationship with Jackson was a with child mistake . )
She got as good and meaningful an exit as someone can get without misplace their life . She saved a small fry during a flaming and almost lost her life in the process . After that , she depart . While she was a stellar surgeon , she could have fit in better when it came to her personal life . Because of that , after she left , she has n’t really been missed .
Leah Murphy
Grey ’s Anatomyshould have forgotten Leah a lot earlier than they did . For a while , the rooter did , too . She lost her chore because she was n’t primed to be a surgeon . Her kinship alternative ( with Alex and Arizona ) were n’t the best , either , considering that neither was go to last . Both were temporary , though she did n’t see it that way .
There was nothing really about Leah — besides the fact that she did ameliorate during her fourth dimension off from the infirmary — that was positivist enough that anyone cared about seeing her return for longer than one episode . fortuitously , her ( lasting ) exit was quiet when it came ; she just did n’t give back for season 14 .
Shane Ross

She has come up a few times since her departure , but not really in any way of life that suggests that the show has n’t completely moved on from her lineament .
Alex is marry , so she could n’t get along back for her personal life . Almost everyone she know has since left , and she was n’t really anyone ’s " person " like others were . If Izzie was n’t an original character , it ’s probable that no one would ever hear her name again .
Rebecca Swender
Perhaps the bighearted bell ringer against Dr. Swender is that she was connected to Izzie . Remembering her means recall Izzie ’s genus Cancer , which also means remembering her pop off off Izzie ’s case to another doctor .
She also question Derek ’s operative skills , which is always going to be a mark against someone . She was a estimable medico , but let ’s confront it : that ’s not what weigh most of the clip onGrey ’s Anatomy . The show focalize on how these Dr. interact with each other and their patients , and Dr. Swender was n’t winning any points in that regard . She was n’t suppose to be in particular memorable since she was only there for Izzie ’s plot line , really .
Robert Stark

He took credit for one of Alex ’s mind and did n’t answer Meredith ’s pages about a patient . He was too much of an foreigner when it came to the balance of the staff . He could have had a Quaker in April , but he ignore her after she did n’t want to date stamp him .
Lucy Fields
When you consider of Lucy , you might only think of one affair : Addison having to take over for her when Callie was injured and pregnant . Despite being Callie ’s obstetrics , she was out of her ease geographical zone when the other doctor was hurt and Sofia needed to be monitored .
Though Lucy ’s relationship with Alex was find out as more than just a pass , it might as well have been just a flint due to how it was treated . It essentially terminate due to miscommunication and mistake , and when you look back at Alex ’s making love life story prior to get married Jo , she ’s barely a blip .
Sydney Heron
Sydney was one of the most forgettable Doctor , andGrey ’s Anatomydidn’t attempt to prepare that . She was n’t anything special . The ABC medical drama ca n’t look every character to vibrate with fans , and some have to be give more attention than others . Because of that , Sydney was one who lost out .
Does anyone want to remember any of the temporary honey interests that either Meredith or Derek had ? Not really , because it was obvious that none of them ever stood a prospect . At least this one did n’t last longer than it needed to , otherwise Sydney would have been someone the series should have forgotten before it did .
